University Expert in Medicine and Surgery of Exotic Animals and Unconventional Pets

METHODOLOGY

• Methodology 100% Online In person events or workshops will be organize for every Online Postgraduate Course in countries where we have a larger number of participants.
• 90% of lectures are held on lives sessions, 10% pre-recorded.
• Live conference schedule according to speaker location: 20:00 hrs Colombia*(UTC-5) or 20:00 hrs CET/CEST (Spain). There may be small changes that will be notified through the communication channels.
• All live lectures are recorded and uploaded to the Moodle platform within 12 hours in order to be reviewed at the most convenient time for the student. All lectures will be available for review until one month after the last class with lecturer (see schedule).
• Communication channels: WhatsApp and e-mail. Reminders of scheduled lectures and vital academic notifications will be sent by email and Whatsapp group, to be invited at the beginning of the program. Two contact numbers will be available (academic area and for technical support) and communication can also be made by email vetcam.specialists@gmail.com .
• Evaluation Methodology:
  – You must complete and pass one exam per module.
  – ⁠Complete 90% of the program either attending to live sessions or watching them on the platform.
  – ⁠Clinical case: You must present a clinical case at the end of the course (Instructions for the clinical case will be provided during the course).
• Webinars / ”Conversations”/Q&A Sessions: Live attendance is voluntary, but it must be taken into account that they are part of the attendance percentage, so they must be viewed on the platform in case of not being able to attend the live session.
• Access to reading material on the platform per module (scientific articles).
• * 20:00 hrs of Colombian time will be 2am of CET/CEST next Day in winter time, and 3am CET/CEST of summer time.

POSTGRADUATE COURSE DESCRIPTION

This postgraduate program is designed to provide veterinarians with comprehensive and updated training in medicine and surgery of exotic animals and unconventional pets, understanding that this is one of the most dynamic and challenging areas of veterinary medicine and therefore keeping the training under the highest standards of online education.

The program is comprised of core modules that address the areas essential to the comprehensive training of the veterinarian specializing in exotic animals and non-conventional pets. Each module is designed to provide a balanced combination of theoretical fundamentals and clinical applications. Students will learn to manage consultations, diagnose diseases and design effective treatments, considering the anatomical, physiological and behavioural particularities of each species. This course also addresses the management of animals in special contexts, providing a comprehensive and practical perspective. All this with the support of experts in the field and using the latest educational technologies.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

To educate and train veterinarians in the field of exotic animal and non-conventional pet medicine and surgery under the highest standards of online education, providing solid theoretical foundations necessary for its application in practice.

ACQUIRED COMPETENCIES

The student will acquire the theoretical knowledge necessary to handle specialized consultations, interpret advanced diagnostic methods and apply personalized treatments, including surgical procedures and emergency management, adapted to different species. In addition, students will acquire skills in animal welfare, conservation and disease prevention, with an ethical and sustainable approach. You will also develop skills in critical thinking, multidisciplinary work and resource management in shelters and rehabilitation canters. This comprehensive program combines theory and practice to meet the clinical and conservation challenges in a constantly evolving field. All this considering that each module will be taught by international specialists in the field so that the student receives the highest possible quality in the training offered.
