Ophthalmology of Lagomorphs and Rodents - Stage 2

Program

Theoretical part:
1.Antibiotic therapy for eye diseases in small mammals… a completely different approach
2. Ciliary body ablation in lagomorphs - is it applicable? If so, when to decide on it, patient management before and after the procedure
3. Is it enucleation yet? Eyeball prolapse in small mammals - when to decide on reposition and when to enucleate
4. Corneal surgery – everything you should and would like to know about corneal suturing in small mammals
5. Intracapsular lens extraction in chinchillas - indications for surgery, intraoperative and postoperative management

Practical part:
1. Ciliary body ablation in the rabbit
2. Preparation and suturing of corneal wounds
3. Intracapsular lens removal procedure


✓ The workshops are intended for veterinarians.
✓ Completion of Stage I of the workshops is not a necessary condition for participation in Stage II of the workshops, however, experience in performing basic ophthalmological procedures and knowledge of basic ophthalmological knowledge regarding the anatomy, diagnosis and treatment of lagomorphs and rodents is necessary.
✓ During the practical part, there will be two-person workstations with specialist operating microscopes, ophthalmic magnifying glasses and specialist ophthalmological tools.
✓ The cost of participation includes: participation in the theoretical and practical part of the training, unlimited access to cold and hot beverages during the workshops, refreshments during coffee breaks, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, training materials in paper form.
✓ ADDITIONALLY: to be obtained during the training - individual internship with Dr. Oliwia Lis.
✓ Each participant will receive a training completion certificate and educational points.
✓ We reserve the right to cancel the workshop if a minimum of 10 participants is not met.
