The "Coffee with coffee" course is a comprehensive online training aimed at veterinarians . The course offers extensive knowledge on the physiology, anatomy, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of guinea pigs, as well as practical tips for their daily care.

The first part of the course covers the basics of keeping guinea pigs at home . Participants will learn about their origins, physiology, herd life, feeding and keeping these animals.

The next lessons focus on a detailed clinical examination of the caviar . The course includes instructions on the interview, general physical examination, detailed examination, and additional tests. You will also learn techniques for performing tests such as X-ray, ultrasound, microbiological tests, and dental diagnostics. You will also receive knowledge on laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood tests.

The next parts of the course discuss in detail the most common diseases of guinea pigs . Among them, you will find skin diseases, respiratory, cardiological, urinary and reproductive diseases. The course gives you the tools to recognize symptoms, diagnose and treat the most common diseases.

The entire course is based on solid theoretical knowledge, complemented by practical tips and recommendations that will allow you to effectively care for the health of your patients.

Program (total duration approx. 7h)

• Environmental conditions, varieties, diet, herd in the context of the impact on physical and mental health, cage size and equipment, bedding, calcium metabolism, vitamin C metabolism, oily eye.

• Specific anatomy and physiology of the guinea pig: penis bone, accessory sex glands, teeth, paws – number of toes, lungs, uterine structure, gender, jointing, sounds, cecotrophs, digestive tract, soft palate, anal sinus, preputial cavity in females, caudal gland, lacrimal puncta, superficial lymph nodes and the adipose tissue around them, trichobezoars, overheating, nasal breather.

• Step-by-step clinical examination, additional tests (X-ray, ultrasound, blood tests, urine tests, bacteriology) – examination techniques, what to test, ranges of norms – book and author's.

• The most common diseases of guinea pigs and their treatment: respiratory tract inflammation, otitis, dental diseases, cardiological diseases, lymphoma.

• Skin problems (parasites, mycosis, sebaceous cysts, pododermatitis), urinary tract diseases, hyperthyroidism, ovarian cysts.

✓ The training is intended for veterinarians and 5th and 6th year veterinary students.
