Corneal Surgery with an Introduction to Surgical Treatment of Lens Luxation

THEORETICAL PART

• Hyphema – causes, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Lens luxation – causes, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Deep corneal ulcers – pharmacological and surgical management – what to choose?
• Pharmacotherapy of glaucoma in cats and dogs – principles of drug selection.

SURGICAL PART

• Corneal wounds – debridement and suturing of corneal wounds.
• Pedicle conjunctival flap graft onto the cornea.
• Corneal prosthetics and introduction to intracapsular lens extraction
• Intracapsular lens removal.

✓ The workshops are intended for veterinary practitioners.
✓ Completion of training stages I and II is not a prerequisite for participation in stage III, but experience in performing basic ophthalmic procedures and knowledge of basic ophthalmic anatomy, diagnosis, and treatment are necessary.
✓ During the practical part, individual workstations with ophthalmic loupes and specialized ophthalmic instruments are provided.
✓ The participation fee includes: participation in the theoretical and practical training, unlimited access to cold and hot beverages during the workshops, refreshments during coffee breaks, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and printed training materials.
✓ ADDITIONAL: an individual internship with Dr. Oliwia Lis to be gained during the training.
✓ Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and educational credits.
✓ We reserve the right to cancel the workshops if the minimum number of 8 participants is not reached.
