LIVE WEBINAR (10/13)

Lecturer: Dr. (PhD) Martyna Woszczyło
Webinar start: 20.07.2026, 7:00 PM
Duration: 60 minutes

We invite you to participate in a new, comprehensive training series dedicated to clinical behavioral medicine. The program has been created for veterinary doctors who want to better understand the relationship between a patient's behavior and their health condition.

This is a practical series of trainings that will help answer one of the key questions in daily clinical practice: is the observed problem behavioral, or does its source lie in a somatic illness?

During the webinar, we will focus on problems with urination and defecation in dogs and cats and their possible connection with somatic diseases, pain, stress, emotional disorders, and environmental difficulties.

An important element will be distinguishing situations where the problem is primarily behavioral from those where the animal's behavior is a reaction to pain, discomfort, mobility limitations, chronic disease, or deterioration of cognitive functions. We will also address the most common interpretative errors, including attributing "maliciousness" or "lack of upbringing" to the animal.

During the webinar, we will discuss:

– Possible medical and behavioral causes of inappropriate urination and defecation

– The impact of pain, diarrhea, and discomfort on the animal's behavior

– The importance of environment, resource availability, routine, and sense of security

– Situations where a problem interpreted as behavioral should prompt further somatic diagnostics

Additional information about the webinar

The webinar is intended exclusively for veterinary doctors.

In all webinars, the common thread is a clinical perspective on the patient: when a change in behavior should prompt further somatic diagnostics, how not to miss pain or chronic discomfort, and how to combine medical and behavioral approaches.

This training will provide veterinary doctors with practical knowledge necessary for accurate differentiation of somatic problems from primarily behavioral ones, directing diagnostics immediately to the correct path.

This is the tenth webinar in the "Behavioral Medicine in a Nutshell" series.
