✓ The workshops are intended for veterinarians, veterinary technicians and 5th and 6th year veterinary students.
✓ The participation fee includes: participation in the theoretical and practical training on Saturday and Sunday, unlimited access to hot and cold drinks during the training, refreshments during coffee breaks, lunch, and training materials in paper form.
✓ Practical part:
- learning how to make proper smears and stains
- microscopic evaluation of hematological preparations from healthy and sick patients
- interactive part: joint analysis of clinical cases by presenters and participants
✓ We reserve the right to cancel the workshop if a minimum of 10 participants is not reached.
✓ Each participant will receive a certificate of training completion and educational points.

Saturday

Smears - how to deal with it technically and what can we see under a microscope?
● slides/dyes/techniques
● microscopic evaluation - basic and more advanced leukogram
assessment of cellular changes
● practical classes on smears

Platelets/leukocytes and erythrocytes clinically, i.e. all the most common problems encountered in clinical practice
● anemia and polycythemia
- classifications and causes
- diagnostic diagrams
- details - characteristic changes and their role in diagnosis
- clinical significance - impact on therapeutic decisions
● thrombocytopenia and thrombocytopenia
- division of platelet changes
- diagnostic diagrams
- clinical significance - influence on therapeutic decisions
● leukocytosis and leukopenia
- changes in the granulocyte/lymphocyte/monocyte series
- clinical significance - influence on therapeutic decisions
● microscopic evaluation of smears (practical classes)

Sunday

Additional tests in hematology - when, what and how?
● biochemical parameters from the perspective of a hematologist in patients with anemia and not only
● hormones and their importance in hematology
● rapid diagnostic tests and their importance (when and what)
● Coombs test/ANA and other immunology tests
● stool and urine tests - what is important in hematology
● smears in the context of greater knowledge resources - microscopic assessment of hematological patients (practical classes)
