We invite you to participate in a new, comprehensive training series dedicated to clinical behavioral medicine. The program has been created for veterinarians who want to better understand the relationship between a patient's behavior and their health condition.

This is a practical training series that will help answer one of the key questions in daily clinical practice: is the observed problem behavioral in nature, or does its source lie in somatic disease?

During the webinar, we will focus on how skin diseases, itching, pain, discomfort, and chronic inflammation can affect a dog's behavior. We will discuss, among other things, irritability, avoidance of contact, aggression upon touch, sleep problems, excessive excitement, and the etiology of compulsive behaviors.

An important element will be distinguishing situations where a behavioral problem may be secondary to a dermatological disease, and those where stress, anxiety, or behavioral disorders exacerbate skin symptoms in specific disease entities. We will also touch upon the topic of cooperation between the veterinarian and behaviorist, as well as practical aspects of pharmacological work with a dermatological patient, with an emphasis on drug interactions in pharmacotherapy. 

During the webinar, we will discuss:

– The impact of itching, pain, discomfort, and chronic skin inflammation on dog behavior

– Changes such as irritability, avoidance of contact, aggression upon touch, sleep and rest problems

– Compulsive behaviors or behaviors related to excessive excitement

– Differentiating primary behavioral problems from problems secondary to dermatological diseases

– The impact of stress, anxiety, and frustration on the exacerbation of dermatological symptoms

– Cooperation between a dermatologist and a behaviorist in managing a patient with chronic itching or discomfort

This webinar is intended exclusively for veterinarians.

The aim of the meeting is to thoroughly discuss the correlation between chronic skin inflammation, itching, and pain, and changes in dog behavior, such as sudden irritability or compulsive behaviors.

The training will provide veterinarians with practical knowledge necessary to accurately differentiate somatic problems from primary behavioral ones, directing diagnosis immediately to the correct path.
