- Each episode will focus on practical dilemmas regarding invasive surgical procedures or conventional treatments, aiming to break down and brainstorm these crucial decisions.
1. Rabbit Therapeutic Problems
- The first webinar covers three common medical problems in rabbits: otitis, liver disorders and gastrointestinal disease.
- The focus is on deciding when conservative treatment remains appropriate and when surgery should be considered.
- Ear drops, flushing of the external ear canal or myringotomy and plastic surgery?
- When should liver biopsy and surgical exploration be considered, and when is hepatoprotective treatment appropriate?
- Just GI tract stasis or obstruction?
- How can these conditions be distinguished?
2. Rabbit Oncological Problems
- During this webinar, we will discuss several common oncological problems in rabbits: thymoma, adenocarcinoma metastasis from the uterus and mammary glands and last, but not least testicular tumours. What kind of conservative treatment options do we have and when should we prefer surgery instead?
- Thymoma - therapy or surgery?
- Adenocarcinoma metastasis - therapy or surgery?
- Testicular tumours - therapy or surgery?
3. Rat Clinical Problems
- In this training, we will discuss one of the most common disorders in rats, which can sometimes mimic or develop into oncological processes.
- What kind of chemotherapy is suitable for mammary gland tumours in rats? How should Zymbal gland neoplasia be treated?
- Medical or surgical treatment in rats with pododermatitis?
- And many other questions in this webinar!
4. Ferret Oncology
- Lymphoma - therapy or surgery?
- Adrenal gland disorders - therapy or surgery?
- Insulinoma?
- This time we will talk about the most common oncological problems in ferrets.
- We often face a difficult choice: proceed with surgery or provide palliative treatment.
- Are effective non-surgical treatments available for these conditions?
- Classic and targeted chemotherapy, hormone therapy, radiation and surgical techniques.
5. Guinea Pig Clinical Problems
- Urinary bladder stones - therapy or surgery?
- Lymphoma - therapy or surgery?
- Thyroid gland tumours - therapy or surgery?
- We all know that guinea pigs are very sensitive to anaesthesia, surgeries and some kinds of treatment.
- In this training we will discuss common surgical problems in guinea pigs:
- Is it possible to remove urinary stones without surgery?
- Is chemotherapy appropriate in guinea pigs with lymphoma?
- How should thyroid gland tumours be managed?
