WEBINAR

Lecturer: Han Opsomer Dr. med. vet. EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition
Duration: 90 minutes

We invite you to participate in a practical webinar on hay – one of the most important elements in rabbit nutrition, yet often overlooked in daily veterinary practice.

During the webinar, we will explore how to properly assess hay and what characteristics to look for when choosing it for a specific patient. Not all hay is the same – it differs, among other things, in botanical composition, structure, quality, and content of individual nutrients.

We will also discuss how to assess hay from a practitioner's perspective and what information we can gather just from its appearance, structure, and composition. We will also talk about how to recognize different types of hay and how to consciously select it to meet the needs of a particular rabbit.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the practical application of knowledge about hay in daily work with patients. We will consider the significance of its quality and type in the context of commonly encountered clinical problems, such as obesity or urinary tract diseases.

The webinar will be an opportunity to view hay not only as a basic dietary component but also as a tool that we can consciously use in the prevention and management of our patients.

During the webinar, we will cover the following topics:

- How to assess hay?

- What to look for when choosing it?

- How to match hay to the patient's needs?

- How to use it in prevention and clinical management?
